Description
“Bravery – The quality or state of mind of choosing to be brave, even when you are scared. It is not the strength of the body that counts, but the strength of the spirit. Bravery is the audacity to be unhindered by the failures and to work with freedom, strength, and hope in the face of the unknown.” – Carly Wright
About the Warriors Collection:
Artist, Carly Wright, is delighted to reveal her latest collection entitled ‘Warriors’ – Courage, Bravery, and Honour. The three piece collection continues a theme that is close to the heart of the artist, showcasing a battle faced by almost everyone, if not all, and the indomitable human heart that refuses to quit, even under pain and pressure.
The paintings are full of colour and character, evoking the strength of the human spirit, inspiring hope to believe and never give up on the battlefield of mental health.
Launching her latest works, Carly who has had her own unique yet shared experience of struggle, has perfectly painted both pain and strength on the faces of the warriors.
The collection was revealed at the Cushendun Caves in Co, Antrim, famous for being featured in the global TV series, ‘Game of Thrones’. Carly searched for weeks to find the perfect location, with the essence of the paintings being reflected on the rugged, and at times stormy, coast.
“My warriors felt at ease in the scenes where Game of Thrones was filmed – where the battles, pain, defeats and triumphs all echo the human experience.“
It is Carly’s hope these works will continue to highlight the importance of looking after our mental health and also emphasise the shared struggles we face in life, with self-awareness being the most vital form of awareness; to be conscious of your own thoughts and self-talk. Through these pieces, Carly conveys the idea that learning to be aware of yourself, your heart, and your mind and through exploring the depth of self-discovery and self-ability, we are reminded of our strength. Through the eyes of the warriors, we are reminded that it takes courage to cry, bravery to be vulnerable, and that it is honourable to show your heart in a world where we are trained to hide who we truly are.
With this collection, Carly aimed to capture the strength of the soul – to inspire those who see the art to keep getting up even when they fall, to stand for others when they can’t stand for themselves, and build walls of strength and protection for those who we are, and who we once were. These paintings are for the warriors of the world.
