Description
“This piece was created during one of the lockdowns during the pandemic. I really wanted to create something people could look at in 30 years’ time, who maybe didn’t experience the pandemic, and they could get a feel for what it was like and what it meant to those who went through it.”
“I included rainbow colours due to them being in the windows of so many homes to show support for the NHS, and included newspaper clippings with bold words to convey the emotions and sentiments of the time. There are a lot of small details in this piece that reflect the social distancing requirements, feeling like a number rather than a person, and the hope that there would be brighter days ahead.” – Carly Wright
