Described by Carly as ‘artful expressions depicting the depth of psychology and sociology’, these pieces intend to express what it feels like to be misunderstood. Inspired by real life situations, real people, and real stories; to be understood is the privilege of a lifetime.
‘I’m very much inspired by Banksy, and have been for a long time. His love for simple messages he conveys through his art, I wanted to explore that, so I think there is a Bansky-feel to these pieces.
This collection represents inner child thoughts. A doubting child standing in the rain, another child bringing the sun and pulling them both from the darkness that surrounds them. One child reaching out in compassion to help the other.’ – Carly Wright
Reading the pieces from left to right, Patience represents ‘they don’t understand me’, It’s Okay says ‘I can’.
Created using mixed media, the two pieces can be purchased separately to display as singles or a duo. Alternatively, both pieces have been combined into one print, Misunderstood.
